Around Town with the PWD

Date:

Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – The Roads and Drains Division (R&D) of the Public Works Department (PWD) in the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy & Utilities, and Domestic Transport, has been working consistently and strategically to maintain and improve public infrastructure around the island.

On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, a crew of the R&D team was on location at the C. A. Paul Southwell Industrial Site in the vicinity of the Basseterre Fisheries Complex, engaging in concrete work on the Bay Road. Their work area, demarcated by orange cones and appropriate signage, to indicate their presence to pedestrians and drivers.

Metal wire frames and strips of board symbolized the progress made after the PWD dispatched workers there on the second iteration of deployments since road improvements began at the site a few weeks prior.

Now that the project is in its final stages, the general public will soon be able to navigate the area without obstruction once again as the PWD continues its efforts to systematically address issues in public infrastructure.
